Every year, we pay tribute to individuals and organizations who are transforming our communities and our Commonwealth. This year’s Salt of the Earth Award recipients are those supporting and advancing women in union construction careers, fighting on the front lines of the climate crisis, and fighting day in and day out to protect and maintain workers' rights.

2023 Salt of the Earth Award Recipients:
President Steve Tolman, Massachusetts AFL-CIO
Maria Belen Power, Undersecretary of Environmental Justice and Equity
for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Boston Union Trade Sisters

We hope you will join us as we celebrate our awardees who are making a difference in the communities we live.

In solidarity,

Lee Matsueda, Executive Director, Community Labor United
Darlene Lombos, Community Labor United Board Chair,
Executive Secretary-Treasurer, Greater Boston Labor Council
