Dear John,

We have gathered together a slate of what Moment Magazine calls “a who’s who of American Progressive Zionism” to participate in the World Zionist Congress elections, in order to influence policies and budgeting priorities. The Hatikvah Progressive Israel Slate has generated more interest in what is often called “the Jewish people’s parliament” than has been seen in recent elections.

And what is the outrageous reaction by those on the right who don’t agree with our progressive Zionist world view?

Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro hysterically claimed that we “have mobilized to direct funding toward causes that run directly counter to the interests of the organization, including support of BDS.”

Betheny Mandel wrote in the Washington Examiner that “the American Jewish Left is using this World Zionist Congress election to try to turn the financial support of the Jewish people against Israel, and they’re not even trying to hide it.”

Yehudah Glick, a Likud member of Knesset, tweeted that supporting Hatikvah is a vote to “strengthen the Iranian aspiration to destroy Israel.”

This is what we up against and why we need your vote today. We need to send a message that rejects their ugly, disgusting, hateful diatribes and enables us to influence annual budgets of $1 billion.

As I am sure you know, we have our supporters in Israel as well; take a look at this short video from Labor Party MK Merav Michaeli.

(video will play in a new window)

A recent article in the Israeli right wing news outlet Arutz 7 suggests that we want “to hijack the World Zionist Congress and steer funding away from anything related to the settlement."

Actually, we want to win the election, fair and square, so we can cut settlement funding.

But we need your help to accomplish this objective.

If you haven’t voted yet, please do so NOW at the election site.

If you need more convincing as to why this is important, visit our website.

And if you have already voted, please forward this email to friends and family members with your personal recommendation that they vote too.

Thank you for your support,

Kenneth Bob

President, Ameinu

P.S. We can’t let the right wing define us; we all need to stand up for a progressive Israel and global Jewish community. This is your chance to take action.
