John—
On Tuesday, Giffords Law Center celebrated its 30th anniversary in San Francisco. First Lady Jill Biden joined Gabby to honor the lives lost to gun violence this year and every year, and to stand with us as we recommitted to our mission to build an America free from gun violence.
Following a devastating shooting at a San Francisco law firm in 1993, the legal community came together to fight for crucial changes in our gun laws. Three decades and hundreds of laws later, it’s clear just how far we’ve come—and that we wouldn’t be here without your support.

At our celebration, we recognized the incredible work of Paterson Healing Collective, an innovative hospital-based violence intervention program in New Jersey, and Sullivan & Cromwell, a law firm that has donated years of pro bono support to Giffords Law Center.
We also looked ahead to the challenges and opportunities to come. Last year we worked with the Biden administration to craft the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, and so far this year we’ve helped states pass dozens of gun safety laws—progress we plan to build on in the coming months and years.
Thank you for supporting Giffords Law Center and our work, whether you’re new to our cause or have been by our side for 30 years. Together, we have saved lives.
Gratefully,
Laura
