Hey John! My name is Trevon Bosley. I’m a youth member on the board of March For Our Lives. Like so many other young people like me, I’ve been organizing with March since 2018, but my fight for gun safety has gone on for much, much longer. My brother, Terrell Bosley, was killed in a shooting at church in 2006. The year before that, my cousin was shot and killed in a different shooting. Neither of them were national headline-grabbing shootings. Today, pundits call them “everyday gun violence.” But I can attest to this fact: Everyday gun violence are everyday problems, and requires everyday solutions. I’ve been in that fight every single day since. Long before I marched in 2018, I connected with the B.R.A.V.E. Youth Leaders in Chicago and joined their peer-to-peer violence prevention youth council. For the first time, I met kids who went through similar experiences of grief and also wanted to make our city, and our country, safe from gun violence. Together, we shared our stories and turned our collective grief into action. B.R.A.V.E.'s support allowed me to grow into the leader I am today. I know there are so many more young people out there like me who are ready to take up the fight for gun safety for the next generation. But they'll never become the leaders we need without the support of B.R.A.V.E.
