Position 

Accounting and Reporting Contractor 

Ideal Start Date: July 10 (flexible)

Part-time contract, 0-12 hours a week

Compensation: $1,000/month

 

Qualities of an ideal candidate

  • Shares WV Can’t Wait movement values and orientation

  • Has an accounting degree and/or 3+ years of accounting experience

  • Likes to solve problems

  • Likes being of service to a wide range of people

  • Is self-directed, can juggle multiple deadlines and own work flow

  • Is open to feedback and learning

  • Is very experienced with Excel and/or google sheets

  • Has at least a basic knowledge or experience with Quickbooks (or similar financial software), Action Network (or similar database), ActBlue (or a similar fundraising page), Campaign Finance reporting, IRS reporting, or a willingness to build their current financial knowledge and experience

 

Responsibilities

Leads work to:

  • Monthly

    • Prepare summary of WVCW finances across our 501c3, 501c4, and PAC partners, and participate in monthly check-in with WV Can’t Wait Finance Team

    • Create and distribute reports for fiscally sponsored organizations; provide occasional support to fiscally sponsored 

    • Manage payroll for WVCW, including reimbursements and benefits

    • Update grants tracker document for all foundation grants

    • Create donor thank you lists, as needed, for the PAC

    • Reconcile bank transactions 

    • Compile receipts 

    • Update contribution records into Action Network 

    • Manage healthcare reimbursements

  • As needed

    • Create and manage a candidate log to track WVCW contributions to candidates

    • Compile semiannual RSA in July & January

    • Create basic finance reports, P&L statements, etc. for grant applications

  • Upon compliance deadlines

    • Provide contribution reports to WVCW endorsed candidates

    • Complete filings with Secretary of State, IRS and FEC

    • Be sure taxes are being filed properly through Gusto

    • Manage reporting calendar
