Tell Congress to Spur Smart Investments in Clean Energy, CarsTAKE ACTION

John,
As climate change exacerbates habitat loss and fuels the spread of invasive
species and wildlife disease, America’s songbirds need your help. The timing of
seasons continues to shift, and birds are struggling to time their migrations
with the availability of food along their migratory routes. Combined with the
worldwide collapse of insect populations, this could spell disaster for many
songbird species. Now more than ever, songbirds need you to speak up for climate action that
reduces climate-disrupting carbon emissions.
Tell Congress we need to invest in clean energy and zero emission cars to combat
climate change and to protect songbirds.

TAKE ACTION

Congress can drive high-impact, smart investment in clean energy with a few
small but important changes in tax policy. Reduction in carbon emissions depends
on investment in clean energy, energy storage, energy efficiency and innovation
in electric vehicles and carbon removal technology.
Yes, it’s true—we can do it all at the same time. Wildlife champions have a
small window to help fight climate change by encouraging Congress to make key
investments in clean energy and transportation by expanding existing tax credits
for innovation. While such legislation is slightly more obscure than other
climate change bills, it will spur American businesses to develop and deploy
low- and zero-carbon energy and transportation technologies--a win for songbirds
and other wildlife challenged by climate change. Tell Congress to take climate action for songbirds today.

Songbirds—beloved by casual listeners, everyday gardeners, and diligent
birdwatchers--have declined dramatically in recent decades. Just as the quiet
summer springs moved Rachel Carson to act against pesticides, the increasing
absence of songbirds should drive us to take climate action today. If Congress
invests in pro-climate solutions, clean energy will be able to better compete
with heavily subsidized fossil fuels. Decreasing dependence on climate-altering
sources of energy is an essential component of climate action—and one that
songbirds depend on.
Take action today: Tell our elected leaders to say YES to clean energy and
transportation investment, YES to climate action and YES to the return of
America’s songbirds.
