John — One year ago, hundreds of thousands of Americans Marched for our lives again to demand Congress take meaningful gun safety action in more than 450 cities across the country. Days after we marched, Congress passed the most significant gun safety law in 30 years.

We marched for our lives that day because we refused to accept the status quo of losing our friends and loved ones to gun violence following the horrific massacres in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas.

Because you showed up with us, our elected officials finally heard our voices and immediately began crafting legislation known as the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. YOU did that. March For Our Lives organizers and young people put a tremendous amount of pressure on Congress to act during the negotiations, and we fought for gun safety provisions that many didn’t think would make it through the Senate.

Because we didn’t let up, a group of senators introduced the bill only 10 days after we marched, and President Biden signed it into law last summer.

Since then, our movement has continued to play a critical role in electing gun safety champions up and down the ballot and driving youth turnout in key elections. None of that was possible without supporters like you fighting for change.

Because of your support, our organizing work is winning in state legislatures, city councils, and school boards. And until our country is free from the trauma of gun violence, our fight will continue.

Thanks for building a safer future for all of us.

In solidarity,

March For Our Lives
