Animal Sanctuary Caregiver Day
#CaregiverStrong

AAVS is celebrating the important work of some very special people on Animal Sanctuary Caregiver Day. The theme this year is “Caregiver Strong,” and it couldn’t be more fitting!

These unsung heroes are the dedicated people who ensure that the animals in their sanctuaries are safe, healthy, and happy. They treat the individuals in their care like family members, learning their likes and dislikes, celebrating sanctuary milestones, embracing unique personality traits, and grieving their losses. The work is mentally and physically demanding—sometimes even dangerous—and involves long hours, often in extreme weather, and with animals who have suffered past abuse and have special needs.

We couldn't be more grateful to the sanctuary staff and volunteers who take on some pretty tough jobs to make sure that chimpanzees, monkeys, horses, and others get the love and attention they need and deserve. THANK YOU for all you do!

Help us celebrate Animal Sanctuary Caregiver Day as we show our appreciation for animal caregivers and their very important work.

Through the generosity of supporters like you, AAVS has given over $4 million in grants to worthy sanctuaries, particularly those caring for animals released from labs.

Thank you for caring!
