This month is National Gun Violence Awareness Month, but gun violence isn’t just a problem for the next few weeks.
As of 2020, guns are the leading cause of death for children and teens in the US. This is completely unacceptable.
Join me in calling for a national assault weapons ban to save our children’s lives. We need 5,000 signatures to demand action: [[link removed]]
Nearly 30 years ago, Congress passed an assault weapons ban which took dangerous weapons of war off the street, and the rate of gun massacres fell across the country.
But Republicans cared more about getting money from the gun lobby than children’s lives and allowed that ban to expire, and mass shootings skyrocketed once again.
Now, it’s time to finish the job and ban assault weapons once and for all – it worked in 1994, and it can work today.
We cannot afford to debate the value of American lives. Children are dying and Congress must act now to control this senseless violence once and for all.
Sign on now to demand that Congress pass a national assault weapons ban. [[link removed]]
Thank you for joining me in this critical fight.
