Dear Friends,
------------------------------------------------------------
Brexit Disappointment

My appearance on Newsnight a couple of weeks ago provoked a national debate! I made clear my total disappointment at the government’s failure to deliver on Brexit. Other than us actually leaving the EU at the start of 2020 they have done precious little to seize the many potential benefits.

Immigration, both legal and illegal, continues to soar. An incredible 1.2 million people settled in the UK in the last year, that is a city the size of Birmingham. This is not what we voted for. In addition, the regulations by which our businesses have to operate have not been relaxed; indeed in some areas they are getting worse. Whilst there are some foreign policy successes there is an overwhelming feeling of disappointment. Brexit has failed in the eyes of millions that voted for it - because of this government.

** A Farage Comeback?
------------------------------------------------------------
There have been acres of newsprint speculating whether I might return to the frontline of politics. The truth is that I have not yet decided. I continue to support Richard Tice and Reform UK. That said, I am not ruling anything out…

** Elon Musk
------------------------------------------------------------
He is back on top of the pile as the richest man in the world. His takeover of Twitter is so important in a social media landscape that is overwhelmingly left wing. Thank goodness he is here! With Tucker Carlson leaving Fox News and joining Twitter, the platform is genuinely becoming a beacon of free speech.
