John – President Biden brokered a deal to prevent a default. Now, House Republicans are already preparing major tax cut bills for the wealthy. (Read: major cuts for social programs and working families).

Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans were willing to let our country experience a catastrophic, once-in-a-generation default unless Democrats agreed to a slew of spending cuts to key social programs.

These included eliminating preschool and childcare slots, food and housing assistance, veteran and senior medical care, and increasing the cost of higher education. Thankfully Democrats prevented the worst from happening.
