As June begins, I’m excited to celebrate Pride Month, lift up the LGBTQ+ community here in Rhode Island and across the country, and recommit to the fight to make our country more inclusive and welcoming to everyone, no matter who you are or who you love.

As LGBTQ+ Americans, and especially LGBTQ+ young people, face a wave of hateful and dangerous legislation in Congress and in statehouses across the country, we must stand together to support and defend the LGBTQ+ community.

There is no place in our country for hate and discrimination, and we have to keep up the fight to protect LGBTQ+ Americans and ensure equality for every person in our country. This is not just an issue to focus on in June. We need to fight for equality all year long.
