The anti-abortion movement's next target.

NARAL Pro-Choice America | Freedom is for EVERYbody

John,

Yesterday, NARAL Pro-Choice America released a new research memo that highlights how anti-abortion activists are now using the same playbook they've used on abortion rights to target contraception.

They're recycling their tactics—promoting medical disinformation, concealing their extreme endgame, and disguising their gross fearmongering as "protecting women." Except they're not trying to protect anyone. It's all about control.

Read more about how the anti-abortion movement is trying to restrict our access to contraception.

Here are some highlights:

  • Anti-abortion activists use medical jargon and junk science to deceive the public and present their disinformation as legitimate scientific research.
  • They cherry-pick and manipulate data to cast doubt on the efficacy of birth control.
  • Their arguments against birth control are dripping with fake feminism. The anti-abortion movement's legacy of misogyny and white nationalism is well documented, and they're faking their concerns for cisgender women as a means to control all of our bodies.
  • Republicans are falsely equating abortion and contraception in order to lay the groundwork for prohibiting certain birth control methods under abortion bans.

The anti-abortion movement is intentionally elevating medical disinformation to attack birth control. We won't let them try to sneak by while they target our reproductive freedom. Read more about their attempts in our new research memo.

Thank you for being in the fight,
