King County is in the process of developing the 2024 Comprehensive Plan.

King County - Your Future Your Voice

King County is in the process of developing the 2024 Comprehensive Plan, a guide for how the county plans to support future growth in unincorporated communities, or places outside of city limits.

Today we?re announcing additional opportunities to share your input and suggest changes to the proposed updates. Your input is critical to shape the proposals that matter most to your neighborhood.

*Share your feedback.*

Over the past several months we?ve heard from thousands of people from across King County ? community members who shared their thoughts on social equity, affordable housing, and climate change in our region. Based on this input, the Public Review Draft includes the actions the County is proposing to take on these important issues.

Also, if you live, work, or play in Snoqualmie Valley/Northeast King County or Vashon-Maury Island, you may also be interested in learning more about the area-specific changes proposed for these communities.

The draft Plan is open for public input through July 15. We invite you to participate in our survey and upcoming virtual and in-person events:

*What is the Comprehensive Plan?*

The Comprehensive Plan drives County decisions and planning for services in unincorporated areas such as where homes, offices, or stores can be built; how roads, buildings, and trees contribute to the look and feel of neighborhoods; investments in regional services like transit and parks; protection of working farms and forests; and access to clean water, clean air, and a healthy environment.

As required by the Washington State Growth Management Act, the Plan guides County policy for the next 20 years for local land use and development regulations in unincorporated King County (places outside of city limits) and for regional services throughout the county, such as transit, sewers, parks, trails, and open space.?
