John,

Last week I was interviewed by Martha Raddatz from ABC about my son Jordan. I told the story of how he was murdered in a senseless act of gun violence back in 2012, and how it led me on my mission to become an activist and member of Congress.

John, I talk about Jordan a lot. I think about him and miss him every single day. But I also talk about him because I believe it’s crucial that people who’ve been impacted by gun violence feel empowered to share their stories. We must remind the American people of what’s been taken from us so that our leaders will take action against the gun violence epidemic.

I won’t stop fighting for common-sense gun reform, and I’m ready to keep leading this movement through 2024 and beyond. My end-of-month fundraising deadline is tomorrow at midnight – can you make a donation right now to ensure I keep my role in Congress? [[link removed]]

Republicans in power across America are determined to reduce the conversation around gun violence to the “thoughts and prayers” they offer to victims. As someone who’s lost a loved one in this epidemic, I’m saying that we deserve better.

We’re far overdue for further federal intervention on this issue. I’ve been fighting in Congress for a national ban on assault weapons – like the AR-15 that was used in the Uvalde massacre last year – so that high-powered firearms don't get in the hands of dangerous people.

However, we’re fighting an uphill battle with Republicans in control of the House. If you want to build Democratic power to flip it blue in 2024, chip in to my campaign before our end-of-month deadline so I can keep doing the work to strengthen our movement. [[link removed]]

CHIP IN [[link removed]] No parent should feel worried that their child may be in danger when they’re sent to school. Enough is enough, and I won’t stop beating the drum on this issue during this critical moment for our country.

Onward,

Rep. Lucy McBath
