May is Mental Health Awareness Month and I want to use this opportunity to talk about the growing need to address mental health challenges in this country.
Last week I announced that $6 million in federal funding that I requested is being dedicated towards an integrated care campus at WakeMed. This is an important step in addressing the mental health crisis in Wake County.
Today, one in five U.S. adults experience mental illness symptoms each year. Mental health professionals are working hard to get everyone the care they need – but there are not enough resources dedicated to this healthcare crisis.
Congress must do more to support mental health. Join me in calling for more investment in mental health resources by adding your name today. [[link removed]]
