Salaam,

We are just one week away from the Center for the Study of Islam & Democracy's 21st Annual Conference, which will take place Thursday, June 1 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The topic of the conference is "Why the U.S. Should Support Democracy in the Muslim World, and How?" The event features an impressive list of expert speakers who will engage with this important and timely subject.

I will be speaking on a panel from 9:45-11:15am on "The Cost of Authoritarianism: Assessing U.S. Mideast Policy over the Long Term." The panel also includes Andrew March of University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Shadi Hamid of Brookings Institution, and Sarah Leah Whitson of Democracy in the Arab World Now. It will be moderated by Dalia Fahmy of LIU Brooklyn.

You don't want to miss this event! RSVP today:

Yes, I will attend!

I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,
