Let’s be real for a second: This is a pretty tough time for people who believe in reproductive freedom. It seems like every day there’s a new horrible attempt to ban abortion. From states like Florida, where Ron DeSantis signed an extreme abortion ban, to states like North Carolina where GOP politicians passed an abortion ban after promising voters they wouldn’t.
It doesn’t stop there. Right now, anti-abortion extremists are fighting tooth and nail to ban medication abortion as we know it. Medication abortion is incredibly important for accessing abortion, especially as abortion care has been banned and restricted since the fall of Roe v. Wade. But it’s not just abortion care that would be impacted—mifepristone, the pill they’re trying to ban, is also a part of miscarriage management.
Anti-abortion Republicans don’t care about the will of the people (the vast majority of people support the right to abortion), or our health and well-being—they care about controlling us.
We’ve always known that anti-abortion extremists would do everything in their power to ban all abortion, everywhere. What matters right now is what we do about it. I’ll be frank—our fundraising has slowed down a bit lately. And clearly, we need all hands on deck to fight back.
