Employer Engagement Training

Date: 4 July 2023

Timings: 09:30 – 16:30 with regular breaks and one hour for lunch

Delivered: Live online via Zoom

Price: £210 + VAT per person (£252 total)

Are you looking to develop your approach to employers? Has an employer ever advised you to visit their company website to apply for jobs, or simply said “we’re not hiring right now”?

This course teaches techniques and skills in how to approach employers and build relationships to enable you to develop jobs on behalf of your IPS clients.

This course is ideal for anyone supporting IPS clients into employment including: employment specialists, supervisors, occupational therapists and vocational support workers.

The training will cover:

* What is employer engagement and why we do it
* Planning your engagement
* Developing your introduction to employers
* How to use the “three cups of tea” method effectively
* Activities to practice and develop your introductory statement
* How to talk about the benefits of your IPS service to employers
* How to progress meetings onto the next stage
* Small vs large businesses
* Job placement vs job development
* Managing employers’ concerns via role play scenarios
* Sharing personal information with employers (disclosure)
