No images? Click here Dear John, At Health Poverty Action we are working alongside communities in Cambodia to ensure people can lead healthier, more prosperous lives. Over the coming weeks we will be sharing some examples of this work with you. Whether helping families overcome addiction, producing affordable mosquito repellent or working with communities to supply solar-powered electricity to rural households – our team in Cambodia is finding innovative ways to support people impactfully. You can read more about it here. Any donations made towards this work by 30th June 2023 will be doubled by a generous supporter, up to a total of £2,500! Electricity as a vehicle for health justiceElectricity supply is often denied to marginalised populations. This is the case for many rural communities in Cambodia. Despite these communities' demands, national grid power is often too expensive. We are working with Empower Cambodia to provide solar power systems to rural households. This initiative enables families to access clean water, refrigerate food, and power appliances - greatly reducing the burden on women. Community members undertake training on maintenance, so they can continue to use these resources long after we have left their community. And they can sell excess power generated back to the national grid. Innovative projects like this are only possible because of contributions from supporters like you. Every pound counts, and we are grateful for anything you can give. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you soon. Yours sincerely, Siaffa Bunduka P.S. A generous supporter will double all donations made by 30th June 2023, up to a total of £2,500. |
