Hello Friends,
The Young Democrats of Oregon are both proud and sad to announce that our Campaigns Chair, Brian Josephson, is resigning from his position because he will be heading off to Basic Training. We will deeply miss him but are so honored to have had his expertise on our team these past 10 months. Thank you, Brian, for your serive on the YDO Team and more importantly to your upcoming service to our Country.
With that being said, we are seeking a replacement Campaigns Chair and a Vice Chair. Below is a survey for anyone interested. This campaign season is incredibly important and this position will be vital to YDO's overall goal of helping turn out voters around our state. Now is the time to get involved!

In good news, we are incredibly excited to announce Bella Tibbetts has joined our team as Co-Chair of Community Action!

Isabella was born in the rural village of Pelileo, Ecuador. Adopted at 13 months into a loving family and raised in the beautiful Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon. Isabella has always been connected to her community. Growing up she found a passion for art, storytelling, public speaking and most recently community organizing. She has a love for travel that has taken her to the far reaches of the Ecuadorian Amazon on a deep immersion trip visiting the indigenous Achuar tribe, to the borderlands of Arizona for service work with migrants seeking asylum. Most recently she attended the UN COP25 climate talks in Madrid Spain. There she participated in policy work to help uplift the voices of indigenous youth and those of the front line communities who are facing climate change who are fighting against the extractive industries that have deeply threatened our future existence.
Isabella has proudly worked with organizations like Southern Oregon Climate Action Now, Womens Earth and Climate Action Network, Green-Valley Samaritans, Rogue Climate, and Honor The Earth.
Her political work started as a kid, alongside her mom making calls to get Senator Jeff Merkely in 2002. This last year she was part of the first ever Southern Oregon Emerge cohort. There Isabella got the needed information and support critical to running for an elected position and winning, when the time comes. She is committed to bringing diversity into her work, engaging voices of youth and protecting the future for the next seven generations. To embrace her cultural heritage she embodies the ancient Incan prophecy of The Eagle and the Condor, “When the Eagle of the North flies with the Condor of the South, a new day will awaken”.
We are so excited to have Bella on our team. She brings extensive experience with community organizing/activism and deep connections to Southern and Eastern Oregon. Welcome, Bella!
Lastly, YDO has created a Medium account where we will be honoring young leaders across Oregon. Each week will will post one new article. This week, we had the chance to catch up with Claudia Maciel Chavez, an Organizer with PCUN.
