This year, California Environmental Voters is celebrating 50 years on the frontlines of the state’s toughest environmental battles, from our founding in 1972 to passing the most aggressive climate package in history in 2022.

50 years of Environmental Scorecards. 50 years of endorsements. 50 years of priority bills. And 50 years of getting things done.

Though our mission has shifted over time alongside the constantly evolving environmental movement, one thing has remained the same throughout our history: We have been committed to building resilient, healthy, thriving communities, and creating a democracy and economy that is just and sustainable for all.

Of course, we could not have come this far without the constant support of our members like you, friend.

As we look ahead to the final seven years before the 2030 deadline for preventing the most devastating effects of climate change, we look to you to help us keep our mission growing and pushing forward.

I hope this video highlighting our impact and legacy over the last half century gets you as fired up as it did me. Because we’ve got our work cut out for us.

But I have no doubt that, with this team of grassroots activists by our side, our next 50 years will be even more transformational.
