Cone Distributing and community raise $105,000 for St. Jude

Florida-based beer distributor Cone Distributing combined forces with community members throughout the company’s 22-county footprint to give $105,500 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This was the eleventh year that Team Cone has hosted events and community activities throughout the 22 counties they serve to make a large donation to the hospital.

Anheuser-Busch InBev CFO to step down

Yesterday, Anheuser-Busch InBev announced that CFO Felipe Dutra, who has served as CFO since 2005, will step down after the company’s shareholder meeting on April 29. He will be replaced by Fernando Tennenbaum, a 15-year veteran of the company and vice president of finance for AB InBev’s South America division as well as CFO of its Brazilian subsidiary, Ambev.

Texas A&M to sell beer and wine at baseball, softball games this season

Beer, wine and alcoholic seltzers will be available at Texas A&M baseball and softball games the school announced yesterday. The sales will end at the top of the seventh inning at baseball games and the top of the fifth at softball games. The move comes after the school added beer and wine sales to football games last fall.

Record spending predicted for Valentine’s Day

Following a strong holiday spending season, Valentine’s Day looks to be the next big spending holiday for consumers. According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), Americans are expected to set another record for Valentine’s Day spending this year as they continue to widen the range of those they’re buying for on that day. The NRF survey shows shoppers plan to spend $4.3 billion on an evening out, second only to jewelry ($5.8 billion.)
