Texas has been rocked by yet more horrific mass shootings, and it’s time for the madness to stop.

Gov. Abbott was quick to respond to one of the shootings with his own anti-immigrant rhetoric, demonizing these victims and calling them "illegal immigrants."

This racist pandering is a new low, even for him.

The governor's absolute lack of compassion for the murder of innocent people is wrong.

Instead of working to make Texas safer from gun violence, he doubled down to make this mass shooting about immigration.

Abbott's ugly words are no surprise given his cruel political stunt of shipping migrants across the country, but the victims and the people of Texas deserve better than a heartless leader who would rather protect access to guns than innocent lives.
