Tina for Oregon

John,

Before Tina was even sworn in as Governor, she promised to visit every county in Oregon in her first year in office. Her goal is to build strong, working partnerships across the state — especially when it comes to housing, mental health & addiction care, and education.

Tina’s One Oregon Listening Tour has already taken her to 13 counties in four months.

The Governor has taken the time to sit down with local leaders and community members everywhere she goes, eager to hear about the issues at the top of their minds and how she can help. She’s been to schools, health clinics, affordable housing projects, small businesses, and more in her efforts to improve life for all Oregonians and bring the state together.

Here are just a few highlights of the tour so far:

Tina at Vernonia Elementary School, where she read to a group of first graders, answered questions from a classroom of fourth graders, and held a roundtable discussion with teachers and administrators on summer programs, early literacy, and youth mental health.

Tina learning about sweet cherry production at a fruit processing agricultural cooperative in The Dalles. While in The Dalles, she also toured a local food bank and led a roundtable discussion on homelessness and housing in the region.

Tina at a listening session with residents of Morrow County in the Lower Umatilla Basin. Tina has been coordinating with federal and state agencies as well as local leaders to address the groundwater contamination issue in the area.

Tina visiting Village Cottage Homes in La Grande, an affordable housing project with cottages that have rehoused homeless veterans in the community.

Tina’s just getting started on this tour, and she’s looking forward to all the people she’ll meet and places she’ll visit by the end of the year.
