Dear John,

Today, climate change is affecting every part of Maine – from our communities, to our homes and businesses, to our government and economy. Tomorrow, it may become the most disruptive change to Maine’s way of life.

That’s why we hope you’ll join us at two upcoming events exploring how communities and businesses can be climate action leaders – and how you can take meaningful action in your own role.

Communities Leading on Climate Conference

I’m excited to be moderating the “Modernizing Buildings” panel at the Communities Leading on Climate Conference this Thursday, May 11, at the University of Maine’s Wells Conference Center from 8 AM - 4 PM.

Join community leaders from across Maine to hear about the actions and accomplishments that have resulted from the Community Resilience Partnerships program,1 and what community leaders have learned about reducing emissions and preparing for the impacts of climate change. Panel discussions will explore the future of transportation, building infrastructure, and climate resilience. You can choose to attend virtually or in-person.

Summit on Maine’s Economy & Climate Change

I hope you’ll join us at the Summit on Maine’s Economy & Climate Change! We’re excited to partner with ClimateWork Maine2 for this event coming up on Friday, May 19, from 8 AM - 4 PM at the Augusta Civic Center.

You’ll hear from business and environmental leaders, climate experts, policymakers and more about how climate change will re-shape Maine’s economy. Discussions will explore the ways you can help your business, home, and community adapt, steps you can take to mitigate the problem by reducing carbon, and how you can save money along the way. The Summit will feature two keynote speakers, 50 presenters, 12 panel discussions, and a wealth of knowledge on the economic impacts of climate change right here in Maine.
