Friend,

The battle for democracy in America is happening at the ballot box, in legislative chambers, and yes, in our country’s judiciary.

The ultra-MAGA movement has had its eyes on the judicial system for years. Trump appointed a slew of unqualified extremists who barely made it out of law school. And now, story after story has shown that Justice Clarence Thomas has been receiving lavish gifts from GOP mega-donor Harlan Crow for years.

We need to be as clear as possible when we say this: our democracy needs an independent judiciary that exists outside of the influence and MAGA extremism. Take our latest community survey today so we can get your thoughts on the crisis in our federal judiciary.

Harlan Crow has spent millions backing MAGA candidates across the country and his house looks like a museum from the 3rd Reich. Is that the type of man we want cozying up to one of the most powerful judicial figures in the country? Of course not. Is him spending countless money cozying up to said judicial figure – without any oversight or accountability – even worse? Of course it is.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is considering options to discipline Justice Thomas. According to Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin, “Everything is on the table.”

Friend, we want to hear what The Lincoln Project community has to say about it all. What sort of punishment should Clarence Thomas face? How do we get the extremist influence of MAGA out of our independent judiciary? What can the pro-democracy movement do about it?

Answer these questions and more in our latest Lincoln Project Community Survey today. We look forward to reading your responses, and we’ll make sure to share some of our favorite ones.
