If what the whistleblower says is true, this news is nothing short of a bombshell. The FBI should immediately release any and all related documents – the American people deserve to know the truth. Anything less is unacceptable, and our House Republican majority won’t let up until we have transparency and accountability.
Our investigations of woke and weaponized government are continuing apace. This week, I’ll chair a hearing for our Homeland Security Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability on the censorship laundering schemes practiced by DHS. I encourage you to tune in and read my review of the hearing in next week’s newsletter.

Securing our Border
After passing strong border legislation in the House Judiciary Committee last week, we passed a counterpart bill to increase physical border security last week in the House Committee on Homeland Security after a thorough 11-hour markup.
The Border Reinforcement Act, that I’m cosponsoring, will resume border wall construction, bolster CBP staffing, modernize border technology, support local law enforcement, and more.
You can read more about the legislation here.
Cracking Down on The ESG Cartel
On Friday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and I sent a letter to the CEO of Ceres – an organization focused on “sustainability” – calling for an explanation of their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts, which may be violating antitrust law.

We first sent a letter demanding relevant documents last fall and are giving the organization until May 19th to provide all relevant documents – or we will subpoena the company.
“Corporations are collectively adopting and imposing progressive environmental, social, and governance (ESG)-related goals, and Ceres appears to facilitate collusion through Climate Action 100+ that may violate U.S. antitrust law. To advance our oversight and inform potential legislation related to collusive ESG policies, the Committee must understand how and to what extent Ceres and Climate Action 100+ facilitated corporate collusion to promote ESG-related goals…”

The End of Title 42
It’s plain to anyone with eyes that we have a record-breaking border crisis. Unfortunately, it’s about to get even worse. Title 42, a Trump-Era policy, was holding back the worst of it. The policy allowed border officials to immediately expel migrants they encounter at the border. That policy is set to expire on May 11th, unleashing the floodgates of illegal immigration to a new extent.

This week we will vote on HR 2, the Secure the Border Act of 2023, which will institute strong border policies like resuming construction on the wall, codifying the Remain in Mexico program, improving border security technology, reforming the asylum process and credible fear standard, and making it easier to deport criminal illegal aliens.
House Republicans have a plan to end this crisis. But President Biden and the Democrats are standing in the way. Their failed polcies have caused this crisis, and to end it, they must be willing to reverse those policies. Nothing less will suffice.
Congressional Art Competition – Deadline extended!
Each spring, members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor the Congressional Art Competition to recognize students’ artistic talents throughout the nation. Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated nationwide.
The Eighth District winner will be selected this month – the winner and one guest will have the opportunity to visit Washington to participate in the national ceremony with other winners from across the country. The winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol.
Our theme this year is America the Beautiful! A complete list of rules and the submission form can be found on my website. Interested students should submit entries to my Monroe or Salisbury district offices by 5:00 p.m. on May 12, 2023. This is our last call for submissions – I’m looking forward to welcoming our district’s winner to Washington later this spring.
