President Trump gave his third State of the Union speech last night.

As expected, he crowed about the economy and stuck to his usual fear-mongering tactics on immigration. He lied about promises to protect Medicare and Social Security and coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. He said nothing about the most pressing issues we are facing - climate change and gun violence among them.

Let us take this moment to set the record straight:

Trump's economy is only working for those it was designed to benefit - his wealthy friends and the GOP's donor class. Massive corporations are paying nothing in taxes while middle-class families continue to struggle to afford necessities like prescription drugs.

And simply put, his administration tried to rip away health care from 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions. To this day, they are actively working in the courts to cut these protections for American families.

Our work to stop Trump's destructive agenda and undo the damage he has caused continues. You can be sure, the House won't roll over and blindly follow the President's demands.
