Today, Mitch McConnell will lead the Senate in ending its sham trial of Trump and exonerating him. He took every cue from the White House and has pandered to their every wish, abdicating his role as an independent check on executive power.
Kentucky voters have been paying attention to Mitch’s weak behavior -- Republicans lost the governorship in this red state despite Trump campaigning hard there, spelling dark omens for McConnell’s re-election bid in 2020. Now, he and his Democratic challenger, Amy McGrath, are nearly neck-and-neck in the polls.
Sadly, we know Mitch doesn’t listen to the will of voters -- he only cares about continuing his reign of hypocrisy and conservative stonewalling in the Senate. We need to know what Democrats think of him so we can create the best strategy to get rid of him in 2020:
