First Lady Abbott Dedicates Broken Spoke Texas Historical Marker In Austin

First Lady Cecilia Abbott dedicated the Broken Spoke honky-tonk as a Texas State Historical Marker at a ceremony in Austin. During the ceremony outside of the famed barn-style country music venue, the First Lady celebrated the legendary history of the Broken Spoke and emphasized the importance of keeping Texas history and traditions alive.

The Texas Music Office (TMO) and the City of Crockett, Discover Crockett, and the Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce co-hosted a Music Friendly Texas Community workshop on Thursday, April 20.?TMO Community Relations and Outreach Specialist Chip Adams was in attendance to explain the Music Friendly Texas Community designation and the benefits of becoming certified.

The Texas Music Office (TMO) and the City of Clear Lake Shores, TX co-hosted a Music Friendly Texas Community workshop on Thursday, April 27. Clear Lake Shore?s workshop is the first step in the certification process. When completed, Clear Lake Shores will join 42 other Texas cities that have earned the Music Friendly Texas designation. ?

TMO Director Brendon Anthony welcomed delegates from the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs) to the Texas State Capitol to meet with State Representatives for their recognition on the floor of the House of Representatives for GRAMMY Day.

*Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation Introduces "Texas Wild", an Album as Untamed as Texas, supporting Texas? Wild Things and Wild Places*

As part of the 100 Years of Texas State Parks Celebration, Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) in partnership with Rambler Sparkling Water, introduces "Texas Wild?"an album featuring well-known Texas musicians and rising stars as they pay tribute to classic Texas tunes that showcase the untamed spirit found only in Texas music.

Produced by Texas singer/songwriter Walker Lukens (The Song Confessional, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Darkbird, CocoZandi), "Texas Wild" is a standout album that blends the sounds of traditional Texas genres like blues, cumbia, and country with modern sounds like hip-hop, R&B, and electronica, sure to please old-school country fans and new listeners alike.

The first single, "(Hey Baby) Que Paso" by Fat Tony featuring Paul Wall, was released today, May 2nd.
