Last week, during a committee hearing that was meant to get our schools back on track after COVID-19, my right-wing colleagues derailed our entire proceedings to take shots at educators.

At the same time, Kevin McCarthy used his debt ceiling bill to push an extremist agenda on our families and cut essential school funding programs in the process.

Friends, the GOP’s crusade against education is happening at every level of government in every single state to police what books our kids can read and what our educators can teach – all for the sake of scoring political points.

I won’t stand for these partisan politics, and I know you won’t either. I need supporters to sign on and condemn House Republicans’ politicization of our education system → [[link removed]]

While my extreme Republican colleagues rush to throw teachers under the bus, they are making no attempt to work on the issues that matter – overcoming learning loss from pandemic shutdowns, addressing mental health struggles among students, or preparing our education system for future health crises.

The GOP may pay lip service to “protecting our kids”, but their legislative priorities prove they will never put their money where their mouth is.

Will you join me in calling out House Republicans' tactics for what they really are – partisan games that hurt our kids? [[link removed]]

Thank you,

Deborah
