Despite my many years in campaigns and politics, I’ve never been too comfortable asking for donations. I view myself first and foremost as a public servant. I serve you, not the other way around.

That’s why I can’t thank you enough for all the support you showed for me and my re-election campaign during our end-of-April fundraising drive. We reached our goal in terms of the total amount raised -- and more importantly, we nearly doubled our total number of individual donations from last month.

That means our grassroots army of supporters is growing exponentially -- and it means we can make key investments in campaign infrastructure across Virginia starting now.

Here’s the bottom line: My success depends on you. Without your support, energy, and engagement, I can’t succeed -- either in this campaign or as a Senator.

So from the bottom of my heart: Thank you, thank you, thank you!
