Dear John,
President Trump just expanded his anti-immigrant travel ban, adding Eritrea,
Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania and Myanmar to the list of countries from
which travel to the United States is restricted.
This is the latest iteration of a policy driven by fear of the “other.” In
addition to preventing people – especially those escaping volatile situations in
Eritrea, Myanmar and Sudan – from finding safety in the U.S., it also blocks
some refugees who have been resettled in our country from reuniting with their
family members – many of whom still face danger around the world.
In court and on the streets, HIAS has fought the travel ban since it was first
announced in 2017, and we will continue fighting this latest version of it, but
we need your support now:
Will you make a gift of $18 right now to fight back
against the Trump administration’s xenophobic policies and provide refugees and
asylum seekers with the critical support they need to build new lives in safety
and freedom?

This expanded travel ban goes directly against our shared values. So as the
growing refugee crisis balloons in numbers and families continue to face danger
and persecution every day, we will not turn our backs on those who need our help
the most.
We’re fighting to ensure that America remains a nation that accepts all people
without discriminating against any faith or nation of origin, but we can’t do it
without your generous support. Can we count on you to help us lead the fight
against the travel ban with a contribution today?
Make a gift of $18 or more now to stand up to the Trump
administration’s dangerous policies and support refugees and asylum seekers in
their quests for safety and freedom from violence.
