I never thought the GOP would turn their backs on Veterans so much that they would defund these core, essential VA services. Help me send a message to Congress: Veterans need better services, not massive budget cuts. Donate now.

Veterans sound alarm on GOP budget cuts: "Don't defund Vets!"

Join my fight for Veterans. We must repay and protect our veterans and active military members for their sacrifices for our country.

Veterans honor our VA's mission statement "To fulfill President Lincoln's promise to care for those who have served in our nation's military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors." The recent "Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023," passed by all Republicans and opposed by all Democrats, does not fulfill this mission. It does the very opposite. Defunding veteran services shows the stark contrast between Democrats and Republicans. Twenty-one Veteran groups sounded the alarm asking for this not to pass Congress. I, Bob Lorinser, candidate for Michigan's 1st Congressional seat, am proud to stand with them. The 22% budget cut to the VA would: Threaten Medical Care for Veterans. 30 million fewer Veteran outpatient visits and 81,000 jobs lost across the Veterans Health Administration Undermine Access to Telehealth. Worsen Wait Times for Benefits by eliminating 6,000 staff of the Veterans Benefits Administration. Prevent Construction on the Health Care Facilities that Veterans need. The median VA hospital was built nearly 60 years ago – compared to just 13 years ago in the private sector. Fail to Honor the Memory of All Veterans. Delay the opening of 5 new national cemeteries that will serve nearly 1.6 million Veterans. Cut Housing for Veterans. Eliminate funding for as many as 50,000 Veterans, putting them at greater risk of homelessness. Increase Food Insecurity for Veterans. About 1.3 million Veterans rely on SNAP. Deprive Veterans of mental health, substance use, and other health services. Eliminate Job Training and Other Supports for Homeless Veterans Approximately 62,000 Veterans live in northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. We must repay and protect our Veterans and active military members for their service and sacrifices for our country. Outside of the direct harm to Veteran benefits, Veterans would also suffer the consequences all Americans face. Join my fight in advocating for Veterans. Please contribute to my campaign for Congress so we can elect a Congressperson willing to stand tall against cutting services for Veterans.
