We are torn, John. We have so very much we wish to celebrate with you and must hold space for the tragedies we endured in April.

- 4 individuals shot and killed - Dadeville, AL
- Ralph Yarl shot and wounded - Kansas City, MO
- Kaylin Gillis shot and killed - Hebron, NY
- Two Texas cheerleaders shot - Elgin, TX
- A 6-year-old girl and her parents were shot - Gaston County, NC

These aren’t even the total gun violence headlines to receive national coverage this month. And these tragedies occurred just a week before WA became the 10th state to ban assault weapons, along with other vital lifesaving measures.

2. Countless survivors, electeds, champions, volunteers, and GVP supporters joined us in Olympia for the signing of HB 1240, HB 1143, and SB 5078.
