Team -

During a House hearing, Marjorie Taylor Greene told the President of the American Federation of Teachers that being a gay mother by marriage does not qualify her as a mother.

After the witness mentioned she was a mother by marriage, said directly to the witness, "The problem is, is people like you need to admit that you’re just a political activist, not a teacher, not a mother, and not a medical doctor."

I’ll be clear: Marjorie Taylor Greene is not just disrespectful but will attack anyone who does not fit her ideal mold. To disparage mothers across the country who do not have biological children — including adoptive mothers or parents through marriage — is disgusting and shameful.

So when I heard that kind of inappropriate rhetoric come out of her mouth while she was representing her district and state at the House Oversight hearing, I had to say something. And I did.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is a lot of things — but someone who attacks witnesses because of their identity does not deserve to continue to serve on congressional committees.

If you agree, please join me in calling on Speaker McCarthy to act to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments. [[link removed]]

Team, this is not the first time I have called her out for her unacceptable behavior.

Earlier this month, Marjorie Taylor Greene defended Jack Teixeira, who has been accused of recklessly mishandling classified information. So I wrote a letter to Speaker McCarthy asking him to remove her from her committee assignments.

Time and time again, Marjorie Taylor Greene has proven herself unworthy of the responsibilities of being in Congress and on bipartisan committees. She is an extremist who is a threat to our national security and a danger to the freedoms of the American public.

So if you agree, please join me in calling on Speaker McCarthy to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments. [[link removed]]

As long as I am a sitting member of Congress, I promise to continue to fight for the accountability of elected officials.
