Election Day: May 16, 2023
On May 16th, PA is holding a state-wide primary election, but the balance
of power in the Pennsylvania House will be determined by a special election
for House District (HD) 163.
Three candidates are running to fill the seat vacated in March by Democrat
Michael Zabel. Of them, the only pro-democracy candidate is Heather Boyd. Boyd
is the candidate most prepared to defend democracy, and that is more
critical now than ever.
If you live in HD 163, it is imperative that you vote, and if you don’t
live in the district, anything you can do to get out the vote will make a
difference.. Do you know someone who lives in HD 163? Encourage them to
VOTE! Right now, Dems in the PA House have a razor-thin 101-100 majority, so
this single election could determine whether all Pennsylvanians have access
to voting, basic rights, and fair elections.
Key information about voting for everyone in the May 16 state-wide primary
election, including deadlines for registering to vote, requesting mail-in
ballots, and more can be found here: A complete guide to PA’s May 16, 2023,
