Last week, I wrote to you about the importance of avoiding a default on our nation’s debt. We have a tight timeline to take action and avoid economic calamity, and Republicans continue to play political games with the debt ceiling to score points with their extreme base.

Now, Speaker McCarthy and his MAGA friends in the House want to cut food aid for millions of low-income Americans.

Hungry kids shouldn’t be used as negotiating leverage. Period.

Republicans spend so much time talking about balancing the budget and then choose to take away food assistance from low-income Americans rather than ask billionaires to pay their fair share.
