‌ ‌ WEEKLY UPDATE April 21st, 2023 Dear Kansas friends, Thank you for your interest in receiving my newsletter. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family. 100 Days in the House Republican Majority This week marks 100 days in the new House Republican majority! Here's what we've been working on to get America back on track. Watch HERE: Accountability for Afghanistan Withdrawal President Biden refuses to take accountability for America's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. I joined my Oversight colleagues and held a hearing to get answers from Biden administration officials on what they knew, when they knew it, and why they still chose to move ahead. Watch HERE: The Biden administration’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan was an unmitigated disaster. Despite four months of prep time, the failed evacuation was marred by poor decision-making and incoherent operational logistics every step of the way. Watch HERE PROTECTING WOMEN AND GIRLS SPORTS It's wrong to force women and girls to compete against biological males in sports. I just voted for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to ensure school athletic programs uphold Title IX and that only women can compete in women’s sports. DEFENDING OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT Three years ago, extreme Democrats painted "Defund the Police" on the streets of our nation's capital. This is how the left treats our brave men and women in blue. This week I voted for a bill to push back on anti-police rhetoric and stand up for law enforcement officers in Washington, DC. Celebrating a Big Birthday in Kansas! A big birthday shoutout to Margaret Hollenshead! A native Kansan and the oldest living person in our state, Margaret spent years as a dedicated educator in the Chanute community. I wish her the best as she celebrated her 112TH BIRTHDAY on Saturday with family, friends, and neighbors. Meeting with District Leadership This week I sat down with Kansas Electric Co-ops to talk about how Congress can ease the NEPA permitting process, secure our supply chains, and strengthen utilities in rural communities across Kansas. Thanks for stopping by! Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. It was great meeting with the Junction City Chamber to discuss the challenges facing business owners across our state and how we can help Kansas veterans transition into the workforce after their service. Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum Now Open! Congratulations to the Atchison Amelia Earhart Foundation, the Earhart family, and the entire Atchison community on the grand opening of the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum! This new museum will allow Americans to explore Amelia's inspiring journey and trailblazing legacy. Learn more HERE We are Here to Serve April 18th was Tax Day.
