Dear Friends,

I'm writing to share some exciting news.

On Sunday, City and State - "the premier multimedia news organization dedicated to covering New York state and local politics" - published its list of the "5 Best New York City Lawmakers."

I'm humbled and delighted to report that they ranked me #1. You can read their report here. ([link removed])

Recognition like this happens only with a lot of support from others. As I said to City and State: ([link removed]) "I got a great team. That's all I have to say."

YOU are part of this team. It's you that played such a large role in making this happen. I'm incredibly grateful.

I'm particularly thankful to those who helped power my campaigns. In the first, I was described as "an unexpected winner;” and in the second, we overcame a primary challenge to win more votes than any candidate running for City Council in NYC.

It's with your help that I earned a Council Member's platform and the recognition of what WE can do with it.

I'm now seeking the larger platform of New York City Comptroller. It's a job that builds on much of the work I've done in the City Council and is well-suited to my strengths.

The response to my campaign has been very positive, with the momentum increasing. To continue this momentum, we need to scale up, which means raising funds for the campaign.
