Last night while most people were sleeping, Senate Republicans passed a bill that would allow minors to work in dangerous environments like mines and meatpacking plants.

Our children belong in school, not working dangerous jobs to increase corporate profits. [[link removed]]

What’s worse is they skirted the democratic processes and norms at every step of the way. They shortened input from the public, they brought this up in the middle of the night, and then refused to answer basic and clarifying questions that could impact thousands of teenagers this year and for years to come.

These are the consequences of one party rule in Iowa, and we need to stop it. [[link removed]]

The process matters. The process is there to check the worst legislation. And when you have a bad process and bad policy, it only sets our state back.
