Hi there. It's Tim Kaine -- I'm writing to you from my phone so I'll make this quick:
I’ve served in the Senate for more than a decade. And for more than half of my tenure, Republicans have held the majority.
One thing I’ve learned since we took back the majority in 2021 is that this job is a lot more fun -- and a whole lot more productive for the American people! -- when Democrats are in control. In the last term alone, we passed historic investments to rebuild our infrastructure, passed legislation to lower the costs of health care and energy, combat gun violence, and protect human rights, like the right to marry who you love.
But the GOP is determined to regain power in 2024, and I’ll be honest with you -- the Senate map is in their favor. They’re going to be spending big in states all over the country, including Virginia, so we need to be ready to fight back if I’m going to hold my seat and keep working for you.
My team is facing a big internal fundraising deadline at midnight tonight, and they told me that we’re still short of our $15,000 goal by a few hundred bucks. Can you help?
