John — We have a 30-day pre-primary reporting deadline right around the corner, and I'm going to ask you to contribute to Andy's re-election campaign shortly. But first, I want to talk about something close to my heart.

I'm a proud parent, and before serving as lieutenant governor, I was a teacher, an assistant principal, and a basketball coach. I see firsthand how special Kentucky’s kids are, and I can see boundless potential in all of them. It’s our job as parents, teachers, and leaders to make their path to success as clear and straight as possible.

But we must be honest with ourselves. As of January of this year, we have far too many teacher vacancies, and we rank 44th nationally for starting teacher pay. Those aren't stats to brag about. But it doesn't have to be this way. Andy has a plan to improve public education in Kentucky, and we all have good reason to get behind it.

Andy's Education First Plan would raise pay by 5% for every single school staff member, increase funding for textbooks, technology, and training, add more mental health resources for students and teachers, and fully fund universal pre-K. This is a huge and necessary investment into our education system to help every child, regardless of their zip code, reach their full potential.

We should all be able to support these common-sense policies across party lines, because making Kentucky schools better shouldn't be a political issue. It's an investment in the future of millions of bright, young Kentuckians. And I think that's a worthwhile investment.

This isn’t about right or left, red or blue. It’s about investing in the future of millions of bright, young Kentuckians. And our kids are worth it.

We can make this happen, but Andy needs your support to win this tough re-election race so we can continue fighting for Kentucky’s students and educators.

Please, donate any amount before our pre-primary reporting deadline at midnight tomorrow and help us put Kentucky schools back on track >>
