Hey John,

I thought you would like to see this update on how strong voter turnout was in Native communities during the Spring election. Wisconsin Native Vote makes a big impact. Your donations help to make this important work possible: [[link removed]]

Thanks for your support,

Boozhoo John,

I want to start by saying chi miigwech, thank you, for using your voice and voting on April 4.

When you voted, you gave back to our ancestors who fought to give us that right, and you spoke up to ensure our children and their children have a future to thrive in.

There is no doubt – we showed up.

This election had higher voter turnout than any spring supreme court election since 2000! And as we are putting together our reports, it looks like every community we worked in had an increase in turnout. Menominee Nation had a 76 percent increase in voter turnout from 2019 and Red Cliff had 130 percent increase from 2019! Can you believe it??? I certainly can!

Not only that, Wisconsin Native Vote made a splash. We were featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel [[link removed]], WXPR Radio [[link removed]], Milwaukee’s NPR station [[link removed]], and more.

You may have seen our video advertisement [[link removed]] around the state featuring Wisconsin Indigenous leaders we admire.

We are just getting started.

Your participation in this election shows that Native people will stand up for the protection of our land, water, and sovereignty. Our people have a long history of resistance, and on April 4, we showed the country that we are still here and we will make our voices heard.

Miigwech for being a part of this work,

Dee Sweet

P.S. If you want to keep this momentum alive, please join me on Tuesday, April 25 in Madison for our Conservation Lobby Day [[link removed]].
