Friend, millions of Americans just watched the United States Senate engage in a coverup in plain sight -- with Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn's Senate Republicans blocking witnesses at Trump's impeachment trial.
We know that Donald Trump committed crimes in office, that he used the presidency to extort a foreign country to interfere in a US election, and then obstructed the investigation into his crimes -- he and his staff admitted it, we have damning evidence, and they continue today.
When the president commits crimes, there is a remedy: impeachment. The House carried out its constitutional duty under Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution.
But Senate Republicans know they're defending the most corrupt president in history, so they chose to rig the process and deny the American people the opportunity to hear more evidence and testimony. Our entire constitutional process and rule of law have been subverted.
It hurts. It’s painful to see people in positions of public trust choose to violate that trust again, and again, and again. It’s painful to have elected Republicans lie to our faces and cynically tell us that the Constitution doesn’t matter.
Now's the time for us to dig deep for this country and work to remove those who've enabled this president. That's why we're organizing on the ground to register a record amount of new voters and flip TX-25.
We’re in a dangerous moment, and it is critical that we vote in numbers too large to manipulate. Will you give right now to help us ensure that we can register and turn out more Democratic voters than any Congressional campaign in Texas history?

Today is a sad day. You may need to take some time to feel what you need to feel. That’s ok.
But none of us gets to sit this out. So take the time you need, then decide how you’re going to get in this fight. Because it’s a fight for the soul of this country. And I believe that we will win.
