Dear Portlanders,

Finalist Interviews for Portland's City Manager position are upon us!
Portland's City Council is responsible to hire, oversee and evaluate our community's City Manager.
This is a significant responsibility - the process has been long in the making - and we welcome your input as we continue toward the final stages of the search process. 
Please come to City Hall this Friday - April 14th at 6pm - to Meet the City Manager Finalists.

• Community Meet & Greet Reception from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM at City Hall in the State of Maine Room, 2nd floor.

We will hear (briefly) from the three finalist candidates - and then there will be time to mingle. 
Attendees will be asked to complete a quick survey before leaving in order to provide the Council with feedback on the finalists.

Fiscal Year 2024 Municipal Budget:

• Please see the updated timeline for the review process of the FY24 municipal budget. 
• The City Council will have the first read and public hearing for the budget at its Monday, May 15 meeting and the second read, public hearing, and expected vote at its Monday, June 5 meeting. 
  • Monday, April 24th - FY24 City Manager's Recommended Budget presentation made at City Council Meeting (public comment / vote to refer FY24 City Manager's Recommended Budget to Finance Committee for review.
  • Thursday, April 27th - Finance Committee - 5PM - Review of FY24 City Manager's Recommended Budget  - Departments TBD (and Finance Committee Public Hearing / Vote on Portland Public Schools Board of Education Recommended Budget)
  • Thursday, May 4th - Finance Committee - 5PM - Review of FY24 City Manager's Recommended Budget (Departments TBD)
  • Thursday, May 11th - Finance Committee - 5PM - Review of FY24 City Manager's Recommended Budget (Departments TBD)
  • Monday, May 15th - First Read of FY24 Municipal Budget at City Council Meeting with Public Hearing (and Second Reading / Public Hearing on FY24 Portland Public Schools Board of Education Recommended Budget)
  • Thursday, May 18th - Finance Committee - 5PM - Review of FY24 City Manager's Recommended Budget (Departments TBD)
  • Tuesday, May 23rd - Finance Committee - 5PM - Review of FY24 City Manager's Recommended Budget - Public Hearing and scheduled vote on recommendation to full City Council. 
  • Monday, June 5th - Second Read and Vote of FY24 Municipal Budget at City Council Meeting 
  • Tuesday, June 13th - School Budget Public Referendum Date
