Current Happenings April 2023 Stewards of Children Training Better protect the children in your life! Saturday, May 6 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This revolutionary training leaves you feeling prepared to respond to any suspicions or allegations of child abuse, and motivated to take courageous action to protect children in your life. Designed for parents, caregivers, and other adults who serve or interact with children and youth, the training is 2 hours long and we provide CEU's for Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, nurses, and teachers upon completion. The training also meets all minimum requirements for daycare and youth camp staff. Here are a couple ways to support and spread the message of protecting Tarrant County children! April 1-30: Purchase a 4- or 9- inch Banana Cream Pie at Buttermilk Sky Pies in Arlington. Place your pie order today for same-day or scheduled pick-ups! April 14: Wear Blue Day! Snap a photo and use the hashtag #silenceendshere and tag us on social media! April 16-22: 15% of sales at Bahama Buck's 7th St. (Fort Worth) and Mansfield locations will be coming back to support our kids. A Voice for our Kids Child abuse doesn't just affect our community's most vulnerable; the topic itself takes vulnerability too. Austin-based artist Karen Hawkins designed her multimedia art installation, The Pink Bow Project, to illustrate the childhood innocence lost due to sexual abuse, specifically with young girls in the U.S. The exhibit opens on April 8 and will be available until June 1 at Bale Creek Allen Gallery in Fort Worth.
