Dear John,

The Emerge New Mexico Class of 2023 had their first training on April 1st!

They learned how to bring grounding meditations into their everyday lives, craft and tell their stories with the help of volunteer coaches, and then present their stories to the class.

We appreciate the expert trainers City Councilor Johana Bencomo, Alex Bazan, & Monica Esparza, as well as our coaches City Councilor Johana Bencomo, Alesia Durán, ENM Board of Directors Member Barbara Jordan, Bunnie Cruse, Hilma Chynoweth, Rachael Maestas, Sofia Sanchez, & Trish Lopez, who make our work possible! We are also grateful to Joan Baker and the UA Local 412 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for providing us with the space to host our class.

We can't wait to continue to celebrate this new class of leaders, and our Southern New Mexico alums at the Las Cruces Reception on Friday, May 19 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM! We hope you can join us - tickets and sponsorships are available here.

The 30 women and non-binary leaders of this year's class are one of - if not the - most diverse group ever to train with us. 90 percent of the class represents the New American Majority – Black, Brown and Indigenous women, women of color, LGBTQ+ women, and young and unmarried women. We can't wait to see what they accomplish!
