I've always fought for working families and against corporate greed. This year, we can take on those shady special interests and reform our system so corporations and wealthy investors finally pay their fair share.

That's why I'm proud to support Schools & Communities First, and I need you to support it, too.

Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Well, I have some difficult truths to share with you: for over forty years, corporations and wealthy investors haven't been paying their fair share in property taxes and our education system has worsened because of it.

Schools & Communities First is a critical step towards building an economy that works for everyone and improving our schools because it reclaims $12 billion a year by closing those exact loopholes.

Getting this initiative on the November ballot must be the progressives' TOP PRIORITY. Corporations are fighting to keep in place a status quo that works only for them, so we need your help to meet our goal of $10,000 by MIDNIGHT -- Can I count on you to assist us by donating or volunteering?

In Congress, I am proud to fight for economic justice and against the corporate greed that has left so many of our communities behind.

For far too long, hardworking Californians have paid more than their fair share, while wealthy investors and big corporations have exploited a California tax loophole to avoid paying billions in property taxes.

California's schools and communities face a funding crisis, and it is time that we DEMAND the wealthiest corporations in our state pay their fair share to support the vital resources our schools and communities depend on.

Will you chip in $5 before the critical MIDNIGHT deadline?

Thank you for supporting this bold, progressive campaign to build a better future for ALL Californians!

The Schools & Communities First initiative reclaims $12 billion every year for California’s schools and local communities by closing commercial property tax loopholes benefiting a fraction of corporations and wealthy investors. The initiative benefits residents and small businesses by exempting homeowners and renters from any changes while implementing new tax relief for small businesses.
